Students of the PhD study programme in Literature and Cultural Identity at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Osijek are organizing the first International Conference on Literature in Osijek. The conference will take place March 2-3, 2018. More informatio and the full call for papers can be found at the Osijek Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences website. Selected papers will be published in a special issue of the journal Anafora.

This year’s American Studies Workshop in Zagreb proposes as its central concern the question of the meaning of the past, understood as a living history, and its interaction with the practice of American Studies. The Heidelberg Center for American Studies invites applications from Ph.D. students in the field of American Studies or related research areas for this annual one-week conference that provides young and aspiring scholars with the opportunity to present and discuss their Ph.D. projects in front of an international audience. HCA has a limited amount of travel stipends available; accommodation is also taken care of by the HCA. Deadline: November 15. Complete call for papers can be found on the HCA website.
