Croatian Association for American Studies 11th annual conference Media, American Culture, and Global Perspective: Images, Ideas, and Illusion was held on March 31, 2023. This year’s conference was hosted by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Rijeka, Croatia, and the keynote speaker was Dr. Denise Pilato, professor emerita from Eastern Michigan University.

Croatian Association for American Studies (CAAS), Centre for Popular Culture, and Center for North American Studies (CNAS) announce a Call for Papers for the 10th annual CAAS workshop. This year’s topic is Breaking Stereotypes in American Popular Culture. The workshop will be hosted by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Osijek, in Osijek, Croatia, 9-10 September 2022.

The eighteenth HCA Spring Academy on American Culture, Economics, Geography, History, Literature, Politics, and Religion will be held from March 21-25, 2022. The Heidelberg Center for American Studies (HCA) invites applications for this annual one-week conference that provides twenty international Ph.D. students with the opportunity to present and discuss their Ph.D. projects. CAAS (Croatian Association for American Studies) announces a Call for Papers for its 9th annual workshop, Tracing Populism in the U.S. and Comparative Perspective. The 2021 workshop will be hosted by the University of Zadar and will take place in Zadar, Croatia, on September 25, 2021. This year’s key-note speaker is Liam Kennedy (University College Dublin). The deadline for submission of abstracts is June 1, 2021.

This special issue of VTU Review: Studies in the Humanities and Social Sciences is to address the question of the massive and long-ranging transformations overtaking the Anglo-American world in the course of the long nineteenth, twentieth and twenty-first centuries.
