Working Papers in American Studies, Vol. 1 is online

wpas 1 frontHUAmS/CAAS is happy to announce the publication of the first volume of Working Papers in American Studies. The essays assembled in this collection were presented at a one-day symposium entitled “Cross-cultural Readings of the United States” held in Zagreb on May 24, 2014. This symposium was an occasion for Croatian Americanists and their colleagues from neighboring countries to present their current research, in particular as it reflects our “local” readings, and interpretations of the United States in its present or past aspects. We are grateful that Professors Walter Hölbling (University of Graz) and Moira Baker (Radford University) acted as key note speakers and lead the way into inspiring discussions. Apart from them, contributors to this volume include: Aleksandra Izgarjan, Borislav Knežević, Sven Cvek, Lovorka Zergollern-Miletić, Tatjana Jukić, Stipe Grgas and Jelena Šesnić.
