{"id":117,"date":"2011-03-17T12:42:48","date_gmt":"2011-03-17T11:42:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.huams.hr\/?p=117"},"modified":"2011-03-17T12:43:47","modified_gmt":"2011-03-17T11:43:47","slug":"gostovanje-pjesnika-rogera-craika","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.huams.hr\/?p=117","title":{"rendered":"Gostovanje pjesnika Rogera Craika"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>U ponedjeljak 21. o\u017eujka, u 13:15 h, u Konferencijskoj dvorani na 2. katu knji\u017enice Filozofskoga fakulteta u Zagrebu gostovat \u0107e pjesnik i profesor Roger Craik (<a href=\"http:\/\/goo.gl\/JPnxR\">Kent State University Ashtabula<\/a>).<br \/>\nIstoga dana u 18 h Roger Craik odr\u017eat \u0107e \u010ditanje poezije i razgovor u Ameri\u010dkome kutku, Knji\u017enica Bogdana Ogrizovi\u0107a.<br \/>\nSusrete podupiru i organiziraju: Odsjek za anglistiku i Hrvatsko udru\u017eenje za ameri\u010dke studije, a posebna zahvalnost ide Ameri\u010dkome veleposlanstvu, koje je omogu\u0107ilo odr\u017eavanje gostovanja.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Roger Craik, Associate Professor of English at Kent State University Ashtabula, has written three full-length poetry books \u2013\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">I Simply Stared<\/span>(2002),\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Rhinoceros in Clumber Park <\/span>(2003) and\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The Darkening Green <\/span>(2004), and the chapbook\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Those Years<\/span> (2007), nominated for a Pushcart Prize and translated into Bulgarian in 2009, and, most recently,\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Of England Still<\/span> (2009). His poetry has appeared in several national poetry journals, such as\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The Formalist<\/span>,\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Fulcrum<\/span>,\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The Literary Review<\/span> and, most recently,\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The Atlanta Review<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>English by birth and educated at the universities of Reading and Southampton, Craik has worked as a journalist, TV critic and chess columnist. Before coming to the USA in 1991, he worked in Turkish universities and was awarded a Beineke Fellowship to Yale in 1990.
